Provision of multiple survey crews to work under direction from the Survey Manager (Leighton). Surveying within a live rail environment for the construction of a new station facility, with the roof supported on curving steel trusses mounted on circular steel columns.   The final stage of the works required the setting out for approximately 70,000 cleats on curved steel purlins, to receive the individually designed roof sheets: software routines were developed to allow for the identification of the required positions, allowing for the as-built location of the purlins.

The distinctive Yve apartments project on St Kilda Road won the 2006 Victorian Architect Medal.  Madigan Surveying played a major role in the construction of this award winning building.

Setting out for the construction of the main drain over a 1km section, using pipe jacking from a centrally located shaft.   Installation and operation of the VMT TBM Guidance System within the pipe, with the reverse curvature alignments requiring that the guidance system instrumentation be mounted within the pipe.

Works involved mapping surfaces (pre and post excavation), of ground whilst soils were assessed as contaminated or clean and determining volumes of contaminated soil requiring expensive dumping.  This occurred both inside and outside existing heritage buildings.  New building areas were then setout throughout the development.

Madigan Surveying was commissioned by Baulderstone Hornibrook to provide comprehensive survey management for the entire project. From primary survey control servicing structural cores and concrete superstructure, to subcontractor set-out for trades including structural steel with Alfasi, Formwork with Caelli, plumbing with CDC and facade and finishing works amongst others. Madigan Surveying made significant contribution to the construction and erection of the two large retractable roof sections.
